b. April 25th 1988
Will was born and raised in Gloucestershire where he found an early passion for playing music at age 6.
A year later he started his musical journey studying classical piano with the late great Geoffrey Mann, with whom he stayed with for a number of years. Through Mann, Will gained a solid foundation in music theory, harmony and musicianship, and also had his first taste of live performance.
Thereafter Will's passion for music has gone from strength to strength.
In his late teens he discovered a whole new world; Jazz. After hearing the sounds of Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans he immediately knew that jazz was the route he wished to persue.
Will immersed himself in these sounds. He taught himself the basics of jazz harmony and began to build his repertoire.
Will has now finished studying at the prestigious Music Conservatoire; Leeds College of Music, on the Ba (Hons) Jazz Performance degree course. He was lucky to have studied with some of the country's most prolific jazz performers and educators.
He now holds a degree in Jazz Perfomance. Happy days.
Will is currently involed in setting up a permanent base to teach, compose and from time to time, perform from. The narrowboat ZoŽ will completed in early summer.
Will is always open to new performance and teaching opportunities.
